Paint a picture of a lover in your style
In her image make her laugh or make her smile
Draw what you see just remember make it real
Everybody always takes it as you feel
Write some words describing your good time
Distort truth by fitting in the rhyme
Obvious and easy or abstract
Ambiguity lies behind the fact
Memories and one side argument
Rearrange them so I always come out best
Artist puts on canvas and it lasts
Or perhaps story always in the past
The water still runs down
It just goes on and on
And people fade away
Into just another song
All the lines we use to say are gone
But I can change them I can put them in the song
People won't remember what we've said
But what I'm saying now won't stay there in their head
